About

Erin Murray Quinlan

I'm an award-winning playwright, composer, lyricist and dramaturge who brings genuine sincerity, radical kindness, and unapologetic nerdiness to every project.

I studied at Berklee College of Music, creating my own musical theatre degree within the professional music degree before they had an official one. My first Off-Broadway musical, GOD SAVE QUEEN PAM, was workshopped in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop and premiered in 2018 and was published the same year by Broadway Licensing. HOW TO DRAW FRANKENSTEIN, a ten minute musical, is part of Theatre Now's Anthology of `10-Minute Musicals published by MTI. My musical BRAIN HEMINGWAY premiered at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022 and had its Off-Broadway premiere in 2024. My directorial debut BEOWULF AND GRENDEL had a sold out run at Oxford Playhouse and won the Best of Free Fringe Award at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024.

I am currently completing a masters in Dramaturgy at Goldsmiths College University of London. As a dramaturge, I have been on the selection committee for the Players Theatre, reported on shows for Steele Spring Stage Rights, and have taught writing workshops helping self-producers market their work. I also write reviews and other pieces for FringeReview. In addition to theatre, I have been a professional pianist and vocalist in various capacities for fifteen years.

I am an amateur beekeeper, a confirmed solver of Caine's Jawbone, and a nerd in nearly every way it is possible to be one.
